Lawlova Reviews

Review Guidelines

These guidelines explain who may review an attorney on Lawlova, how reviews are moderated, and how Lawlova protects the integrity of its review system.

Effective: September 11, 2026 · Version 1.0
Firsthand experiences only.

Lawlova welcomes both positive and negative reviews. A review is not rejected or removed merely because it is critical of an attorney or because the attorney disagrees with it.

1. Who May Submit a Review

You may submit a review if you personally hired the attorney or personally consulted with the attorney about potentially obtaining legal services. Reviews must describe your own experience and may not be submitted on behalf of another person.

Reviews are not eligible when submitted by an attorney reviewing themself, an employee reviewing an attorney at their own firm, someone without a direct client or consultation experience, or through duplicate or deceptive accounts primarily intended to manipulate ratings.

2. Account and Email Requirements

Reviewers must have a Lawlova account with a verified email address before submitting a review. Email verification confirms access to that email account; it does not establish the reviewer's identity, prove that the reviewer was a client, or mean Lawlova independently verified every statement in the review.

3. One Active Review Per Attorney

A reviewer may maintain one active review for each attorney. To change an existing review, use the edit process rather than submitting a second review.

4. Honest, Firsthand Experiences

Reviews should be submitted in good faith and accurately reflect the reviewer's genuine firsthand experience. Lawlova may investigate reports of fabricated, misleading, impersonated, or manipulated content. Lawlova is not a court and generally cannot independently resolve disputed factual claims between reviewers and attorneys.

5. Prohibited Review Content

Lawlova may reject, restrict, or remove reviews containing or involving:

  • fabricated, fraudulent, impersonated, coordinated, or manipulated reviews;
  • content without a qualifying client or consultation experience;
  • credible threats, intimidation, targeted harassment, or abuse beyond legitimate criticism;
  • discriminatory or hateful attacks targeting protected characteristics;
  • private or sensitive information, including private addresses or telephone numbers, financial-account information, government identification numbers, or sensitive information concerning children;
  • confidential legal information or sensitive details concerning another person's legal matter;
  • spam, advertising, commercial solicitation, repetitive content, irrelevant links, or unrelated material;
  • impersonation or false representation of another person or organization; or
  • rating manipulation, including self-reviews, competitor manipulation, review swapping, deceptive accounts, or improper incentives.

6. Moderation Before Publication

Reviews are subject to moderation before publication. Lawlova may evaluate authenticity concerns, prohibited content, privacy issues, spam, manipulation, and other policy concerns. Submission does not guarantee publication. Only approved reviews are publicly displayed and included in an attorney's rating.

7. Lawlova Does Not Endorse Reviews

Reviews reflect the opinions and experiences of individual reviewers. Lawlova does not endorse a review merely because it appears on the platform, and publication does not mean Lawlova independently verified every factual statement contained in the review.

8. Editing Your Review

Reviewers may edit their own reviews. If an already-published review is edited, the edited version is submitted for moderation before becoming public. Lawlova may continue displaying the previously approved version while the edit is pending. If the edit is approved, it replaces the prior public version and the attorney's rating may change.

9. Removing Your Review

Reviewers may request removal of a review they submitted through their Lawlova account. Removal from public display does not necessarily delete Lawlova's internal record, revision history, moderation decisions, disputes, or related activity. Lawlova may retain appropriate records for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and policy enforcement.

10. Attorney Review Disputes

Attorneys may report a review they believe violates these Review Guidelines. A disagreement, negative rating, or criticism alone is not grounds for removal. Lawlova may consider the original submission, account information, moderation history, information supplied by the attorney, and other relevant information. Unless Lawlova determines temporary restriction is appropriate, a review may remain public while a dispute is reviewed.

11. Attorney Responses and Confidentiality

Claimed attorneys may submit public responses to reviews. Responses are subject to moderation before publication. Attorneys must not disclose privileged, confidential, sealed, or otherwise protected information; threaten or harass reviewers; or otherwise violate Lawlova policies.

12. Lawlova Removal and Legal Requests

Lawlova may reject, restrict, or remove content that violates these Review Guidelines, applicable law, or other Lawlova policies, or when action is reasonably necessary to protect users, privacy, security, platform integrity, or the integrity of the review system.

Lawlova may restrict, preserve, disclose, or remove content when required by applicable law, valid legal process, or a binding court order, subject to applicable policies and legal obligations.

13. Attorney Ratings

An attorney's displayed rating is calculated only from reviews currently approved and eligible for public display. Pending, rejected, and removed reviews do not count. If an approved review is removed or an edited rating is approved, the displayed rating and review count may change.

14. Review Solicitation and Incentives

Attorneys and law firms may invite clients to leave reviews, but they may not require a particular rating, dictate what the reviewer must say, create accounts for clients, supply fabricated review text, arrange review swapping, or otherwise manipulate ratings.

Lawlova does not permit reviews submitted in exchange for payment, discounts, gifts, services, or other incentives intended to influence review content or ratings.

15. Reviewer Privacy

Lawlova may display a shortened name, first name and last initial, username, or another approved public identifier instead of a reviewer's full legal name. Reviewer email addresses are not publicly displayed as part of reviews. Lawlova associates reviews internally with the reviewer's authenticated account.

16. Enforcement Against Review Abuse

Lawlova may warn users, restrict or suspend review privileges, restrict accounts, terminate accounts where otherwise permitted by Lawlova policies, investigate suspected fraud, or take other proportionate action in response to repeated policy violations, deceptive activity, coordinated manipulation, spam, impersonation, or attempts to circumvent prior enforcement.

17. Policy Acceptance and Versioning

Before submitting a review, reviewers must affirm that the review describes their own experience and complies with the current Review Guidelines. Lawlova records the accepted policy version and acceptance timestamp with the submission. If these guidelines change, previously submitted reviews retain the policy-version record applicable when that submission or revision was made.
