Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Lawlova collects, how we use and disclose it, the choices available to you, and how to contact us about privacy questions.
Lawlova is operated by KELLERAE COMPANY, LLC. This Privacy Policy applies to Lawlova’s website, lawyer directory, accounts, attorney profiles, reviews, messaging, profile-claim tools, and related services.
1. Information You Provide to Lawlova
We collect information you choose to provide when you use Lawlova. Depending on how you use the platform, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, account credentials, communications, support requests, review content, and information submitted through forms or account features.
If you are an attorney, law firm, or authorized profile manager, we may also collect professional information such as firm affiliation, biography, office locations, telephone numbers, website information, practice areas, bar or license information, profile-ownership information, and information used to evaluate profile claims or requested profile changes.
2. Account and Email Information
Lawlova may require an account and verified email address for certain features, including review submissions. Email verification confirms that a user can access the email address used for the account; it does not necessarily verify the user’s legal identity or independently establish that every statement submitted by that user is accurate.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit or use Lawlova, we may automatically collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, date and time of access, approximate location derived from network information, and security or fraud-prevention signals.
Lawlova may hash, truncate, aggregate, or otherwise transform certain identifiers when appropriate for security, abuse prevention, analytics, or platform-integrity purposes.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Lawlova may use cookies and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, provide security features, understand platform performance, and support analytics and other functionality. We may update our cookie controls as the platform and applicable requirements evolve.
5. How We Use Information
We may use information to operate, maintain, secure, and improve Lawlova; create and administer accounts; provide lawyer-search and directory features; display and manage attorney profiles; process profile claims; verify professional information; moderate reviews and attorney responses; facilitate messaging; provide support; detect spam, fraud, manipulation, and abuse; enforce our policies; maintain audit records; communicate with users; and comply with legal obligations.
6. Public Attorney Profile Information
Lawlova is a public lawyer directory. Information intended for an attorney’s public profile may be visible to anyone, including the attorney’s name, firm, professional biography, practice areas, office information, public telephone number, website, licensing information, verification indicators, reviews, and other professional information displayed by the platform.
Some attorney profiles may exist before they are claimed. A profile’s ownership or verification status is handled separately from the public professional information displayed on that profile.
7. Reviews and Reviewer Privacy
Approved reviews may be displayed publicly. Lawlova may display a shortened name, first name and last initial, username, or another approved public identifier rather than a reviewer’s full legal name. Reviewer email addresses are not displayed publicly as part of a review.
Lawlova may retain the reviewer’s internal account identifier, policy-acceptance record, moderation history, edits, disputes, removal history, integrity signals, and related records for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and enforcement. Removing a review from public display does not necessarily erase those internal records.
8. Attorney Profile Claims and Verification
When a person requests ownership of an attorney profile, Lawlova may collect and process professional email addresses, bar or license information, firm-domain information, verification results, staff verification records, and related evidence or audit events needed to evaluate the claim.
Lawlova does not currently request government-issued identification through the profile-claim workflow.
9. Messages and Contacting Attorneys
If you contact an attorney through Lawlova, the information you submit may be shared with the attorney or profile owner you selected so they can receive and respond to your inquiry. Lawlova may retain message records as needed to provide the messaging service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and enforce platform rules.
Sending information through Lawlova does not itself create an attorney-client relationship. You should avoid sending confidential, privileged, or highly sensitive information unless you are comfortable providing it to the intended recipient.
10. How We May Share Information
We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate Lawlova, such as hosting, infrastructure, security, email-delivery, analytics, and communications providers. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or valid legal process; protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of Lawlova, KELLERAE COMPANY, LLC, our users, or others; investigate suspected fraud or abuse; enforce our agreements and policies; or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction subject to applicable law.
11. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for legitimate operational, security, fraud-prevention, moderation, dispute-resolution, recordkeeping, and legal-compliance needs. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
12. Data Security
Lawlova uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss. No website, network, or storage system can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot promise that information will never be accessed or used improperly.
13. Your Privacy Choices
You may update certain account and profile information through the Lawlova account tools available to you. Depending on applicable law and the type of information involved, you may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.
Lawlova may retain information that it is permitted or required to retain, including records reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, moderation, dispute resolution, legal obligations, and platform integrity.
14. Third-Party Websites and Services
Lawlova may link to attorney websites, licensing authorities, social networks, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. KELLERAE COMPANY, LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that Lawlova does not control.
15. Children’s Privacy
Lawlova is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the platform. If we learn that information from a child under 13 was collected in violation of applicable requirements, we may take appropriate steps to delete it.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Lawlova develops, our practices change, or legal requirements evolve. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current published version. When appropriate, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
