20-201. DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION CREATED. There is hereby created the
department of correction. The state board of correction, as outlined in sec-
tion 5, article X of the constitution of the state of Idaho, shall control,
direct, and manage the department of correction consistent with the consti-
tution of the state of Idaho and as required by law. The department of cor-
rection shall, for the purposes of section 20, article IV of the constitution
of the state of Idaho, be an executive department of state government.
